FilmWorks Pacific is a Hawaii-based studio that maintains production support in Los Angeles, New York, and the Pacific region. We develop, produce and package film, Internet and television programming, documentary shorts and films, commercials, audio books, and as a service to our community we also produce educational films on drug addiction and mental health with accompanying viewers – teachers guides for domestic distribution.
FilmWorks partners with an Internet television network of original programs and news bits that you may not see anywhere else. In doing so, we have preserved a library of fascinating cultural content and vintage shows, ocean sports, indigenous arts, music, and more.
“Liliuokolani – Reflections of Our Queen” was produced with the Queen’s trust and publishing entity. It is a feature doc film and the first intimate portrait of Hawaii’s last reigning monarch as an artist, author, and innovator.
The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe short films feature Ute Mountain tribal elders and two current generations who express their uniqueness through music, traditional arts, and storytelling.
The company has also produced several award winning films that capture Hawaiian sites, beloved icons, cultural stories, values and oral histories. Authentic is our mantra.
Our drug education films. ICE: Hawaii’s Crystal Meth Epidemic, the feature documentary film simulcast in 2003 on television stations throughout the state of Hawaii. One year later, the sequel “Life or Meth” was also simulcast across the state on all network affiliates. Both films continue to garner national interest, screened by law enforcement, health organizations, schools and families struggling through addiction.
FilmWorks Pacific projects include companion books and music CDs such as The 14th Dalai Lama in Hawaii, a compilation of traditional Tibetan folk music by artists living in exile. Screenings and events range from museums across the country to the New York Botanical Garden’s tribute to Georgia O’Keeffe’s Hawaii works, in special theatre presentations honoring Queen Liliuokalani.
